What's going on?

Hi Everyone! I thought we'd finally update the Colyn family blog as it has not been changed since 2006. Times are a changing.
We will try some new things to keep everyone interested and to maintain some sense of order around here. There is some social media integration for posts to be shared through Facebook, Twitter, etc. A Search function, so make sure you add labels to your posts for future reference.
Please be patient the next little while if things move around a bit, and be sure to let me know if you like or dislike whats going on.
Oh, and keep up the good posts, everyone! If you need any help logging in or posting, just contact me anytime... ~John

The Emperor's New Clothes

Here is a picture of dad taken on Sunday afternoon. He has since then been moved into his own room (not in ICU anymore). Now visiting will be a little better. I don't really have the most recent updated news so I will let Aliza add that, I just wanted to put the picture on for all to see.

Update on Dad.

Hi everyone.

Well, Dad is in the Hospital, and so far he has Pneumonia in both lungs, also some type of infection going on. As of this morning they did not know what it was . He has a rash and swelling in his feet, and something affecting his liver. We are very happy Dad finally agreed to go the hospital, he should have gone a week ago, but would not. Now that he has antibiotics helping him fight this off he should get stronger and then they will run more tests. We will keep posting and calling as we know more.

Let it stop, let it stop, let it stop....

Hi Family, hope you are all having a nice white Sunday. We are presently at around 14 inches. Crazy eh? Hope you are all well and we hope that Dad gets better soon. Dach.

Can we get an update ?

Hey Opa we love You! We are praying for you. Nick, Bas, Simon

Can't wait to have you all here. We will probably have the gift exchanges done early in the evening so we can play with our new stuff and let Willem and Helle go to a special 40th birthday party, because people who turn 40 in the new year are really really special. The usuals are required, something yummy to eat and drink and lots of energy to do what Corrie is doing!! WOOHOO

After we came back from a great weekend in Port Alberni Ezra found that his hen finally laid some eggs. She is a little lonely lately since a Red-tailed Hawk took out the last rooster.

Flowers

Recently i have been picking the last of my flowers. I am kind of happy to be picking flowers in November. It sure is great to have Kale, skimmia, amaranthus and black dogwood all for sale and knowing that i don't have to heat a greenhouse. The bottom arrangement is a piece i made for our church this weekend. These vibrant flowers only last a day or two.
WE'RE BACK!!!!!

Baptism for Evan

A quick note to let you know that Evan will be baptized on Nov.11 in Port Alberni.
We are thankful for the support and sense of community that we still feel from the Port Alberni church. It is exciting for us as Darren will be the one to do the baptism.

We thank God for the gift of children and thank him for welcoming us (and Evan) daily into new life with him.

Mom has offered to host lunch and coffee after church that Sunday.
Looking forward to seeing you all again!!

The kids carved their pumpkins tonight. We have scary in the middle, and cute on the outside.

This picture is a little less blurry, but Willem is not as goofy.

Looking forwards to seeing some other pumpkin pictures on the blog. Have a great Halloween kids and can't wait to see what everyone dresses up as.

Fall Pictures from Larmarque Road

First there were two.

Then there were three more

Now there are five.

Just a few pictures of the colours in our backyard. Now most of the leaves are on the ground but at least we captured the moment in spite of the girls not wanting to.

How about a picture of each family on the blog before Christmas. Looking forwards to seeing them all.

Thanksgiving / Sunday

We've heard that a few of you are coming to town for thanksgiving. We look forward to seeing you.
The PA group has organized some time together for sunday. If you plan to come please let me know and pick an item or 2 to bring along.
Sunday coffee will be hosted by Jake and Mitzie. You can ask them if you need to bring anything.
Then to make it easier for all, we have booked the church basement from 3:oo-until approx. 7:oo
to share a turkey dinner. We will set up the wii game and movies for the kids as well.
This makes it easier for Oma and Opa as all going to their house gets to be a little too much for them.
I will do the bird and ham.If you could let me know what and who's bringing the following based on 35-40 people.
Potatoes, veggies, desserts, buns, salad, cranberry sauce, and beverages.I'm open to your ideas.....
See you all soon,
Yvonne
