What's going on?

Hi Everyone! I thought we'd finally update the Colyn family blog as it has not been changed since 2006. Times are a changing.
We will try some new things to keep everyone interested and to maintain some sense of order around here. There is some social media integration for posts to be shared through Facebook, Twitter, etc. A Search function, so make sure you add labels to your posts for future reference.
Please be patient the next little while if things move around a bit, and be sure to let me know if you like or dislike whats going on.
Oh, and keep up the good posts, everyone! If you need any help logging in or posting, just contact me anytime... ~John

X-men versus StreetFighter..

In an age of 64 bit processors,
Playstation 3 , X-Box and Wii,
It's real fun playing a simple
head to head arcade game.
David bought this at an auction during
the car show yesterday, and hopes to improve
his cash flow a quarter at a time..
I am attempting to download a youtube video. I hope you all will enjoy it. It is a little short and it may mean nothing to most of you, but to those who remember. Try not to laugh too hard.

A Boyd in the hand..

Just got back from the Abbotsford Car show..
Lot's of nice cars & nice people..
Dave and I got to meet Boyd Coddington & his wife Jo.
I asked Boyd if he would like to hire David to work in his shop
as he is really good at getting yelled at :)

Baby steps..

My biggest deterrent to putting up a website
was that it needed to be something people would
have a reason to return to, and
not just another self indulgent shingle to hang out..
It's coming along if you want to check it out..
http://www.colyns.com
Very little content up but I will have lots up by next week
please let me know what you think!

dolphins and sunshine

Hello .... we are back. What a wonderful way to spend a holiday!! I feel so rejuvenated! The sunshine was such a treat. I will post more photos on my Flickr site later.
These dolphins were actually trained to "smile". I got picked from the audience to be part of the dolphin show and this picture is of them pushing me up along in the water. It was fun but I almost lost my trunks....now that would have been a show!!

The sunsets were amazing!

It's great to be home though too.

lost one, gained one!

My sister-in-law got hired today with a law firm in Van. She will do her 1 year articling there. Then after that she (Brian, Kaitlin and baby Jaiden)will be tranfered to Port Alberni. (or they could chose to live in a surrounding community).
We are so excited! Some of her friends that graduated 1-2 years ago still haven't found a job yet.
They are so blessed.
Deb's probably thinking, "sure, now your coming".

Mexican Amigos!

Our waiters and waitress that spoiled us all week in the main Dining-Room. They were incredibly friendly and nice. Yes, there were a few tears on the last night.

Move over Michell. Dave found a good Mexican woman in Puerto Vallarta - hee haw Senorita!

Gilligan and his crew! No, we don't look like tourists - - - do we? A fun day in Mazatlan.

Aalysia coming in for a landing after her Parasailing excursion - doesn't she looked relaxed?
Aalysia, Emma, Kiara, Ella, Dave, Aaron, and Michelle all had a turn at Parasailing - and loved it!

Kiara was our shining star! She joined Paul Boland (a musical impressionist) on stage as he sang a song from "Kermit" the Frog. It was so sweet. After they were finished, Paul told Kiara she could have a Coke on him, then he turned to the audience and asked who was here with Kiara - that they could have a free drink as well. Everyone in the auditorium put their hands up!!

In Cabo, we rented three Mexicans to drive us around on their bikes for a half hour.
It was so much fun - the guys were really sweating! Here is Emma, Helle, and Amy.

Jake with his Senora and his three beautiful Senoritas! On our way to the first formal dinner evening.

More Mexico pictures

Enjoying a 'small' margarita at PiPis. Mmmm good.

Aren't they beautiful. Who would have thought they could look that formal!!!

This is one of the tricks. The forks are resting on the toothpick. It looked really hard, but after giving it a try, a few of us were actually able to do it.

An example of one of our many delicious desserts.

The girls and our dining staff (Cheng, Carlos and Mercy). They were great and Carlos and Cheng always had great tricks to show the kids.
