What's going on?

Hi Everyone! I thought we'd finally update the Colyn family blog as it has not been changed since 2006. Times are a changing.
We will try some new things to keep everyone interested and to maintain some sense of order around here. There is some social media integration for posts to be shared through Facebook, Twitter, etc. A Search function, so make sure you add labels to your posts for future reference.
Please be patient the next little while if things move around a bit, and be sure to let me know if you like or dislike whats going on.
Oh, and keep up the good posts, everyone! If you need any help logging in or posting, just contact me anytime... ~John

a little scare

Not exactly the place to share intimate details but I thought I would let you know a bit as I think you may have heard my story.
I had an appointment with a surgeon today and he said that more than likely I do not have anything to worry about but he wants to see me again in a month... to see if my symptom has resolved.
It has been a hard few days....thanks for your calls!

advice from you horticulturists

OK...maybe that red headed woodpecker is not so cute after all ! ! ! !
Do I need give Ally a beebee gun up in her tree or is it ok for these birds to go at it ?
There are 2 that have been having a daily pecker pecking party up there.

little creatures

Today as we hung out in our backyard two unusual (to our neighborhood) animals made an appearance. I thought it was an appropriate day to see them as it is dad's birthday and little animals were something that he loved.
One was a baby squirrel that hung around long enough for Ally and William to almost touch it and the other was this red headed wood pecker.

Happy Birthday Dad......June 4,1931

It would have been his 77 birthday today. I still think about him all the time. Besides i could use a little help around here.

We all love you so much, Allan,Trudy,Nickolas,Sebastian,Simon
