Welcome to the Colyn family blog page.. Here is our forum for all things related to the Port Alberni Colyn family..
What's going on?
Hi Everyone! I thought we'd finally update the Colyn family blog as it has not been changed since 2006. Times are a changing.
We will try some new things to keep everyone interested and to maintain some sense of order around here. There is some social media integration for posts to be shared through Facebook, Twitter, etc. A Search function, so make sure you add labels to your posts for future reference.
Please be patient the next little while if things move around a bit, and be sure to let me know if you like or dislike whats going on.
Oh, and keep up the good posts, everyone! If you need any help logging in or posting, just contact me anytime... ~John

Women of Faith
Calling all Colyn girls
Yvonne is organizing some tickets and hotel rooms for Women of Faith on November 3-4 for the church. We thought it would be fun to have all the Colyn girls go and stay in a hotel in Vancouver and hang out for the weekend. I know that Mitzie is going to come, I am going to go, Mom is going to go and Yvonne is going to go. Aliza will check Colin's schedule. What about the rest of you. Even you two who live in Langley. We would have a blast all together. Please let either Yvonne or I know within a week, so Yvonne will know how many tickets she has for the women at church.
Thanks.
Hope you can all make it. Would be a blast and you have lots of time to organize for babysitters.
See you there.

Wet tents and Whiskey Jacks
Hi y'all - here are a few pics from our recent camping excursions. The weather wasn't the greatest but we got to see some new things.
The boys did their first backpacking trip in Strathcona park. It was about a 4km hike to Lake Helen Mackenzie. It went well even with the snow. The bugs were a little crazy though. No-see-um soup anyone?
The boys enticed a couple of Whiskey Jacks with some peanuts....
Thanks to everyone who took us in to wash our clothes and dry out our tent. Can't wait to see you all in a couple of weeks. Crayfish beware - the Colyn's are a comin'!

A way to keep in touch
Hello everyone! This is Ella! How is everyone? We have been out at Stamp Falls for the past 12 days and so we all smell like smoke but we've been having fun. Oh yea.. we've sucked up really well to the new "rangers" and so when you guys go for your week without me you are already in their good books. My friends and I spent 4 nights out there... yup in the rain too... and we had so much fun! But anyways.. I decided to make up a blog to let you all know what I'm up to while I am away in Denmark. Only 17 days! :) It's just like this one so you will all know how to post comments on it so that I can hear from you all too. (I will keep checking up on our family blog too so that I can see what everyone is doing here!) The address to my blog is http://www.whileiamgone.blogspot.com I am excited to be able to keep you informed about what I am doing. I'll post pictures of me with all the good looking danish boys I meet too! ;) Okay well I have to go and pack for Teen Camp now. It starts tomorrow and I have absolutely no laundry clean! I will hopefully see you all once more before I leave. Uncle Henk & Uncle Al's family, we will probably see you the night before I fly out, as we are going to Vancouver the night before since I fly out at 8:30 am. Everyone else, I really really hope to see you all. [Hey Simone!!! Want to give me a call if you get this today!! I will try and call you later.] I love you all! Ella <>< xoxo
PS: Uncle John I don't know how to post a link straight to my blog but I'll try again. If you know how you could do that so no one has to remember the address.

Victoria Colyns' return
Hello everyone, we went to Holland and had a great vacation; went to some soccer parties, visited touristy sites and ate a lot of euro-style fast food. It was a fabulous time. Jacq and the kids even made it to Paris.

Hi, I am 4 now!!!
Hello Everyone,
Today was Tuesday July 11. My birthday party was a smash. We had a Princess theme as you can tell by the pictures. All my friends came, 6 Princesses and 2 Princes. We had cupcakes, planted Princess plants, made necklaces, and played on my new trampoline. I'm very happy to be 4, I can tell that my parents love me very much, they are very proud of their big girl, I love them too.
See you soon in Port Alberni
I love you all

Camping at Stamp Falls
Hello everyone:
I am reserving 5 campsites at Stamp Falls for August 1. That will get us out at the campsite and then she will put us in the campsites we would like to have. So those of you who can arrive on August 1 please do so, so that we can get someone in each site. Please let me know if this is not going to work so I can cancel the sites. I have booked campsites 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8. That is all together and then we will have to double up in them. Hopefully that will work out.

Pics of the Family
Hello everyone, here are some recent pictures from our trip to Poet's Cove on Pender Island. We went with some friends from Calgary, very nice place, good to have connections with people like that. We all as a family should seriously think about finding an ocean getaway for ourselves, little fishing, little swimmin, lotta ya ya!!
Hope to see you all soon, Rachel and I have taken the first week of August off for the family campout, about August 3-8, I hope we picked the right days and maybe someone is up on looking for a campsite???? Are we booked somewhere???
Love ya all
